Secret Love Notes

I have no idea where most of these are from (the last one is something Matt wrote on his arm then sent me a picture of when I was away though), but I just realised they were all just hanging out in my inspiration folder waiting to be seen.

Whoopsy

So, its been a month since I was last here. I forgot and while I forgot, life happened.

Lots of exciting things like:
  • Christmas! Too much food and some presents like a lovely pair of shoes and a leather jacket.
  • New Years Eve! Was actually pretty uneventful, and I discovered that if I drink beer and then vodka, it makes me grumpy and argumentative.
  • Holiday! Went to the beach for a week with parents and sisters and cousins and aunties and babies and boyfriends (one mine, one my sisters) and did nothing except swim and eat and drink cold beer and play Risk and read and sleep in a tent.
  • Concert! The day after we came back, I went to see Metronomy and the Teenagers play. I thought the Teenagers were a bit ok, but Metronomy were amazing! and then last week was the Big Day Out, with Neil Young (NEIL YOUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and TV On The Radio and some other bands that I enjoy but care less about and it was great. Neil Young played for two hours! He bought an organ on tour with him! His encore was a cover of the Beatles' "A Day in the Life" and he shredded his guitar strings! and I just found out the Kills are coming in March, this year is shaping up to be full of good shows.
  • Work! I've just done some work experience for Ruby, it was fun and I made new crazy make-up scarves for their shops and stripped a few dead trees of their leaves. And now I'm working for another company, packing boxes to be shipped out to their retail stores, not that exciting but at least I'm getting paid! and soon there will be some more things going up in my TradeMe Store.
  • Moving! I all-of-a-sudden decided it was time to move out of home so this weekend (luckily its a long one) is all about packing for me. Ek, so exciting.
(PS, I have no idea where I picked up these pictures from, they're not mine but I can't remember who they do belong to, sorry!)

PANDA!

I want this so much! A frying pan that's also a panda, what more could a girl wish for?

(you can buy it for me here, please!)

This time last year...

I was in Brighton, England for Christmas, eating my way through a huge amount of food (baked apples + lemon curd on toast + champagne + roast chicken and veges + lemon mascarpone trifle +mulled wine + chocolate log + berry pavlova + lindt chocolate + more wine = very full all day) with two of my best friends.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Tangles

I think I'm instinctively drawn to hair like this because my hair will never ever look like this. Well, not unless I grow it for the next 10 years and then somehow tame the curls a bit.

And also maybe I like plaits because they look a bit like they're knitted!

Mt Victoria

A few weeks ago when it first got really nice and sunny and I had nothing to do and Matt had the day off work, we got Raspberry Buns from the bakery and went up Mt Victoria in Devonport. I'd somehow never been but Matt is a 100% lifetime Devonport resident and used to ride his bike up there when he was little.

PS, the raspberry buns were horrible and tasted like they had been cooked on the same tray as a garlicky loaf of bread, what a disappointment!

Shoes

These are kind of hideous and beautiful at the same time, my very favourite kind of shoes.
(You can find them at Inzivil for $45 if you're lucky enough to have size 40 feet.)

Cream and Pink

Lately I've been drawn to pink and cream together, especially knitted things, even though it's almost the middle of summer here (although the kind of weather we've been having lately, some knitwear almost wouldn't be so absurd).

(girl from Hel-Looks, a dress that might end up on Trademe, a scarf that I'm knitting, a tiny childs jumper I bought at an Op-Shop the other day and will never fit me but I couldn't resist it, and my jewellery-heart from $3 Japan)

This new ad for Miss Dior Cherie perfume is a bit like a whole pink and creamy kind of world and makes me want to move to Paris and fly away with a bunch of balloons.

I've done just about everything there is, except for a few things that are illegal

So I'm watching the Breakfast Club but not really, just out of the corner of my brain, and I look up and the jock ones saying something and all of a sudden for a second I thought he was wearing an American Apparel hoodie.

I got my wisdom teeth out a couple of weeks ago and in the middle of the extra-strength Panadeine decided I should start a blog. So here it is.
